Great Dishwasher…just one fixable flaw

Love this dishwasher! It does a great job washing dishes and there's plenty of room for everything. Only one problem. The silverware basket is lacking in quality. The plastic is rather cheap and the slots that hold each piece of silverware are a bit small, making it difficult to put silverware in and get it out. Other than that, I would highly recommend this appliance.

Quiet but doesnt clean any better

It's unbelievably quiet which is awesome. For years we have had the cheap models and always had to pre wash dishes or they come out dirty. This hasn't changed with this as you still have to rinse dishes before or they come out dirty. But the noise reduction is worth the price increaase in my books. Plus the plastic drying feature is cool and works.

We did our research and the amazing reviews were ALL true without hesitation! We had a family celebration in our home and our DIL was kind enough to wash the dishes just as she would have at home with her dishwasher. She doesn't have to scrub, rinse, double wash, NOT dry her dishes. She just loads her dishwasher, runs it, and the next day unloads it easy breezy. NOT us! The next morning at our house when Hubby went to unload our dishwasher, he had to wash every single dish again by hand, rinse and dry them before the dishes could be put away. That day we did our research and then purchased our new Bosch dishwasher. Now we save more time and energy so we have MORE time and energy for more parties! Thank you Bosch!

Spotless dishes! Even caked on and unrinsed dishes come clean...with inexpensive, off brand detergent pods But... I had to remove the upper utensils shelf for stemware. Good tall wine glasses still don't fit and are unstable. No place for stemware? That's tough after parties etc.

Finally! Clean dishes every time

We replaced our perfectly functional dishwasher with this model because the other one wasn't cleaning the dishes. This Bosch dishwasher is amazing. We have all enjoyed being able to unload clean dishes every time and not have to worry about dried food particles on "clean" dishes. The one thing that does bug me is that I have to put tall water bottles and glasses on the bottom because even with the upper tray adjusted, they don't fit. Otherwise I'm extremely happy with the purchase and will definitely recommend to anyone who will listen. Best dishwasher ever!

Bosch ADA dishwasher

I love my new dishwasher. My kitchen remodel is a European size configuration. I needed to get an ADA unit to fit under the countertop since my original one didn't. My first task was to learn how to adjust the middle rack. Since the unit is smaller than most, it was imperative to find the right level for the dishes in the bottom and middle racks. Once I got the levels correct for the size of my plates and cups, it's a breeze to use. LOVE the upper rack for flatware. It's so quiet! And love the low water usage too.

Old dishwasher died so had to buy a new one. After reading reviews decided to give Bosch a chance. It is so quiet the only time I hear it is when it drains. The 3 shelves and middle shelf that raises up and down mean I can load it and run it once a day in a seven person household. The dishes come out sparkling and the plastics dry. Only downside is that auto cycle takes three hours, but worth the wait.

Overall, this dishwasher is a great improvement over my prior model (GE Monogram). Cleans great and dries great too. My prior model did have a few features that are lacking in the Bosch. An interior light, although maybe not that common amongst dishwashers, is a great feature. The lower rack tines are fairly close together, so larger/thicker plates don't lay out as easily.

New "handicap" size dishwasher

In my recent remodeled /update of my kitchen it was important to lower my counter height. This required different appliances. I chose Bosch dishwasher because of past experience with this brand. Ada compliant not clear on website

I purchased this dishwasher and though it functions very well. It was not made clear to me that it was Ada compliant resulting in two inches less height than normal. Website was not clear on this. I will probably replace in a few years as the storage is limited because of this.

I wish now I had fixed my 13 yr old Bosch when it for the first time quick working. This new one is just a shadow of it's efficiency. So many things I could say negatively, drying cycle only works as well as if I had none, doesn't clean if full, doesn't spin out water at beginning, dishes smell dirty and now wondering if this is a true Bosch.

SGX78B55UC Is a very capable, silent and efficient dishwasher that is has a few opportunities to inch closer to perfection, such as: 1- why does the user have to press the start button after opening the door to add an item after starting a cycle? 2- why the rack design not allow 20-22 Fl-Oz glasses not fit? 3- why does a normal cycle take 2.5 hours to complete? 4- why does the base black skirt not extend to the floor this keeping the front legs exposed and for dirt to slip under the machine. 5- why does the machine not come with hardwire kit without paying extra after spending $1,299.00 before tax?

This is definitely a very quiet washer. It seems to clean fairly well but the drying aspect seems to be hit and miss. I've read that as long as we wait long enough, it will dry. I understand this due to the type of heating this does, but it still seems to take a bit longer than expected. I was kind of excited for the Wifi aspect of this machine, but it is really not working out. I was able to get it connected, twice now, but it ultimately fails into a connect/disconnected state not long after. I've kind of given up on this part of it. I am positive it is not on my side of things as I have numerous wifi devices (many of which are strictly one band or another) and they all work fine. Another feature I thought we had for this device was a green LED showing on the floor when the cycle was done, but apparently not. Only the red one showing it is in use. Maybe I didn't read the feature sheet properly or it was poorly worded. Ah well.

This dishwasher will do everything it says it will do, and then some, in fine fashion. The quality is second to none and will outlast almost every other machine. However, although I am a longtime fan of Bosch products, I am somewhat disappointed in the operation of this particular dishwasher because I like putting a cup of bleach in with every load of dishes that I wash to sanitize everything. Due to the nature of this machine and Bosch's specifications, they strongly recommend against using bleach and their devices. I recommend checking the manufacturer's specifications and operating instructions to ensure that the dishwasher you buy can handle bleach.

My favorite dishwasher

I have had several dishwashers over the last 50 years, and I would say this Bosch 800 Series is my absolute favorite. My kitchen layout required an ADA model, so I expected to have to settle for a smaller unit and less interior capacity, but the design is absolutely brilliant, it holds so much. The 3rd rack is wonderful! We are also saving water, I have been able to break myself of the "wash the dishes before you load" habit, and just lightly scrape them before putting in dishwasher. The dishes routinely come out absolutely clean, including pots and pans. The drying cycle is also very efficient, even for delicates placed on the bottom level, no concern over melted plastic containers. This dishwasher is also extremely quiet. Great dishwasher!

Best dishwasher I've ever used.

Every dish, container, or piece of flatware I have put in this dishwasher has come out clean, including stuff my old dishwasher never would have removed. Last night, I loaded the dishes from a lasagna and everything was spotless on the basic normal cycle. I also love the absence of heating coils because I can put all my kids' plastic lunch containers on the bottom rack. And it truly is whisper quiet, which is a big deal in our small house. I love it.

Love our new 800 Series Dishwasher

Everything about this washer has met or exceeded our expectations. We were looking for a top of the line replacement for our previous washer, that was still working well, but lacked the many features that we were looking for in our remodel. The 800 has all the advanced features we needed. It's quiet and has a multitude of settings to accommodate wash cycles from heavy to rinse and sanatize. The unique drying system was a pleasant surprise as well. Dishes and glassware come out spotless and sanatized. We really did our homework upfront for our remodel, as we planned to make our appliance choices ones that would last us for a long while. We couldn't be happier with this purchase.

Getting to know you

First off, dishwasher loading in my Olympic event. As with any relationship, I've had a "getting to know you" phase w/Bosch, and now I know how to maximize the space. What I learned right off is that it cleans so much better than the old GE I had. Glasses are noticeably sparklier. I haven't yet figured out where to load stemmed wine glasses. The skinny top shelf is far more useful than I thought it would be. It's so quiet I can't tell if it's on, and I love that it sends me a text when the cycle is over. Worth every penny.

Effective washer, poor rack design

Our family has used it for a month and it has been effective in cleaning our dishes. However, the bottom rack is small and the tines are too close together. The upper rack is too close to the cutlery drawer and taller glasses hit the drawer and get knocked over. Overall, the racks are poorly designed and it is frustrating to load. Loading a dishwasher should be easier than this. I wish that Bosch offered alternative racks.

ADA Compliance nice but with downside.

This model is ADA compliant, which means it will fit into a space that is two inches shorter than standard. That is a great thing if you have put in a couple of floors (one on another) and can't get a standard height dishwasher in the space because of this. There is one significant downside to this. The inside of the dishwasher is shorter which makes putting plates and bowls in that would fit in our previous Bosch diswasher impossible. The upper rack is adjustable which you may move up and down a couple of inches; but you must sacrifice space in the lower section (plates, large bowls etc.) or in the upper section (smaller bowls, salad plates etc.) Thus either way you choose to move the rack you must compromise. This being said the dishwaser is eerily quiet, and does a great job of cleaning and drying the items put into it. If it wasn't for the shorter interior I would have given a rating of five stars.
